INTERNATIONAL A3-10 U.S. Officials Pessimistic Over Middle East Talks American officials continued to say they had little expectation for a breakthrough in the Middle East peace effort during meetings scheduled in London today. They suggested that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel was not prepared to accept American proposals for compromise and that he thinks he can withstand any political pressure that might result from public American disapproval of his position.
